So, I'm doing pretty well and managing to update the blog weekly. Okay, it's only been a few weeks but I'm still feeling quite proud of myself! This week's been rather sad for me due to a family bereavement so was very pleased to have my gorgeous great-niece's 2nd birthday party to look forward to today (Saturday 10 March 2012).
I am very lucky to have 7 siblings, who all have children. And 3 of my siblings are very lucky to be grand-parents too. Family is incredibly important to me and since losing my parents I try very hard to stay in touch, with varying degrees of success. It's not until your parents are gone that you realise Mums and Dads have this fabulous ability to glue you together. They give you a common focus and ensure contact is kept among the family.
My Mum was particularly fantastic at this and it's been a struggle to keep it going now neither of them are here. To be fair, my Pops was a bit pants at it, but it made me make the effort more, so we still got to see one another. So, my point was that it was lovely to have a catch up with some of the family today and spend some quality time with them.
So, not a lot of crafting done but plenty of food for the soul, which isn't a bad trade in my opinion! As a result, I will not be sharing any of my makes with you today, but a photograph of the fabulous birthday cake my sister made. She's so talented, my mind boggles at her creations, and the bonus is, they taste absolutely delicious too. Which also reminds me to ask you to pop by and have a look at our facebook page, where you can see what we get up to in our spare time.
